“And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. (Joel 2:28 NKJV))Beloved, we are living in a time and season where this very prophecy by Joel is being fulfilled, but not to the extent that it could. As believers, it is imperative that we return to the power of the Holy Spirit and begin to avail ourselves for the great outpouring during these last days. How do we do it? We do it by faith! We must become a people in the body of Christ that EXPECT the outpouring of God's Spirit and hunger for this encounter with the supernatural so that we can be used in this season for His glory. No other time in history has there been such a need for the power of God to be made manifest for the purpose of bringing hope into the hearts of men, women, and children. We are living in a time where people are settling for whatever has been dealt to them through misfortune or tragedy and allowing the greatness that God put in them to lie dormant in their hearts and idle in its function.
God knew that the "last days" would present the greatest challenge to the fulfillment of the Great Commission and without supernatural intervention, hopelessness, and rebellion would prevail. But thank God for the answer to this which is found in Joel's prophecy. When the Holy Spirit is poured out upon all flesh, power is made available, and the impossible now becomes possible. Three things would happen that would put hope into the hearts of people and cause trailblazers to arise and carry out exploits in the face of adversity:
1. Sons and DAUGHTERS will prophesy
2. Old men will dream dreams
3. Young men will see visions
In this season, like never before, the Father has anointed men and women to speak boldly the Word of God that is able to bring deliverance and hope to a dying world. This is not the time to bicker and complain about who can PREACH...God has already settled this debate. Sons and DAUGHTERS!
Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. (II Timothy 4:2 NKJV)
Would someone just REJOICE that the Word of God is being preached? We need truth-tellers in this season, and whether male or female, they have been anointed to proclaim the Word of God. Thank God for raising up sons in this hour who will be faithful to God, to the church, and to spiritual authority. Sons help build, and God has anointed them for this season to rise and build the Kingdom on earth through boldly speaking His Word and contending for the faith. And yes, daughters are arising! Daughters who are anointed to proclaim the word with authority. Daughters who are being given platforms to prophesy and help build the Kingdom. Praise the Lord for the daughters who stood when no one else did, who stayed when others left, and spoke when others remained silent. Thank God for the Holy Spirit-filled daughters that will get the job done!
Joel then states that the old men would dream dreams. Thank God for the dreamers who dream God's dream. Did you get that? Joseph was a young man who dreamed God's dream. That is the kind of dream that the Father is going to bring to pass. And now, old men who lack the strength of their younger years, who are not able to travel as much, who have spent their younger years spending their strength building the Kingdom, can continue to play an important part of God's plan by "dreaming." This is the season for dreams to come true that have been inspired by the Father. I don’t care how bad it is in the world, there is a dream from God that will bring the people of God to their best season ever! Old men have lived their lives and now it's time to set the course for the next generation. So, keep dreaming and dream big...because our God is an awesome God!
Finally, the young men will see visions. Without vision, people perish and lose focus. We have a generation of young people who are doing what they think is best rather than getting God's vision for their lives. Thank God for the young men who have determined to SEE it God's way, have sought His face for direction, and come out of His presence with vision. This vision is to be shared and made clear so others can run with focus to attain it. We need young men like this to arise and say what they see. And what they see is a result of what He said and what they heard. Beloved, the Holy Spirit is pouring out on ALL FLESH, and there is a generation that will arise out of the place of despair and hopelessness and impact this world.
Where there is no vision [no redemptive revelation of God], the people perish; but he who keeps the law [of God, which includes that of man]--blessed (happy, fortunate, and enviable) is he. (Proverbs 29:18 AMP)
Wherever you fall in this equation, may you not limit the power of God, but instead, use your faith and ACTIVATE the greatness inside of you! This is our finest hour...the darker it is, the brighter the light. Pour out Your spirit, oh God! We are ready for a mighty move through us!
